Seattle

John and I realized that we had some time last week to take a quick three hour train ride up to Seattle.  We decided to get a quick taste of the city so we only spent one night.  Being so close I'm sure we'll head to Seattle many more times.  It's great to being living in a location where we can explore many different sites and cities within close proximity.  Eventually we hope to make our way south into California and much further north to Alaska and Vancouver, BC.

Once we got to Seattle we spent a lot of time at the landmark Pike Place Market where we caught a delicious lunch at Lowell's, a three leveled restaurant with stunning views of the water.  After lunch we explored Rem Koolhaas' masterful library, and in the evening we saw a snappy shadow puppet show called "Animal Cruelty", which featured a noir tale using a sassy chicken as its main character.

The following day we explored Seattle's Art Museum and went back to Pike Place to get some Chinese pork buns and dumplings.  Overall, Seattle was a treat.  I'm actually glad it was so hilly so that we could work off some of the calories we accrued from our brief visit.

Check out some of my photos:
