Museum of Contemporary Craft

There is a particular cultural buzz around Portland that is a distinctive combination of craftsmanship and individual ingenuity.  One place in the city that exemplifies this is the Museum of Contemporary Craft.  John and I decided to investigate the museum (and college) on one of their monthly free days and we had a great time.

The museum had several exhibitions that included fashions from designers around the region, a really stunning exhibition on contemporary British ceramics, and a display about the creative process for a fashion designer.  Included below are photos from those exhibitions, but also images of designer Anna Telcs' unique clothes that address European traditions, gender identity, and ceremonial garbs.
