Wave Hill
New York City has plenty of botanical hidden treasures around the city that can surprise anyone, from true blue local to a first time visitor. A recent trek to Wave Hill, north to the city, was an adventure to transport to, but offered stunning views of the Hudson, fresh air, and quick retreat to absorb the springtime light. The property included a historical house, now used as an art gallery, many different types of gardens and paths, an eleaborate green house, and many Wave Hill exclusive wooden reclining chairs (conveniently sold within their garden gift shop/visitor center). I had a wonderful time, and if you ever want to venture further into the garden escapes NYC offers, Wave Hill should definitely be on your list.
