Wrigley Field
Nachos in an adult sized helmet, free seats, and seeing the Blackhawks hockey team after they won the Stanley Cup; these are some of the great highlights when John and I made our very first visit to Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubs play ball. The Chicago Blackhawks had won the Cup earlier in the week and so before the baseball game they paraded the Cup around the field to great fanfare and enthusiasm. John and I had just been talking about going to a Cubs game and then some free tickets were available through work so we took up the offer and headed up the Red line. The actual stadium was smaller than I expected, but seeing the iron girders and configuration of the seats and boxes was really fascinating and had a great 'old time' feel. Food wise, I of course, did my research on food available before the game and read about a novelty Cubs hat filled with nachos, cheese, and salsa--it was a yummy hoot! The Cubs ended losing that night to the Cleveland Indians, but made a big comeback the following night. We had a really good time and I'm sure we'll be seeing more of Wrigley Field in the future.
