In a conclusive entry about my road trip with John, I'd like to contemplate what potentially lies ahead for me. The whole point about relocating across the country was to improve our quality of life and establish 'roots'. So far in the short about of time that we've been here I can certainly say quality has definitely improved. Don't get me wrong, there are things about New York City that no other place can even begin to replicate. The 'roots' part does take time, but I feel great already about what I've experienced so far.
The past several weeks have been filled with job interviews and prospective thoughts about what our future may have in store. The daily reminder of life changing, much like the very impressive autumn displayed by Portland has made me extra contemplative and introspective.
I think driving across the United States of America was a challenge worth partaking. Lots of people under different circumstances relocate for lots of reasons. A mixture of pleasure and practicality filled our trip, which made it more unique.
I'm definitely antsy to make art. But for now, I'm focusing on finding the means to be able to afford making art. Good things--Fancy Things are coming down the line. Portland is for 21st century pioneers of innovation, curiosity, and practice. I hope to become an active participant. I've relaxed more, but hopefully my senses have sharpened. Stay tuned!
