Salt Lake City - Part 1
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure to join my friend Angela in Salt Lake City, Utah while she was working for a trade show. Known as the epicenter for the Church of Latter Day Saints of Jesus Christ, who are also known as the Mormons. It was interesting to discover the particular relationship the city has geographically with the mountains, which seemingly surround the city very closely. I started my first day in the city with the Utah State Capital building, which is supposed to replicate the congressional capital building in Washington, DC. The beehive is an icon throughout the city that represents industry and also relates back to LDS beliefs--upholding ideas of collaboration and collectivism. I also had the pleasure to discover a really great art collection at the University of Utah with the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. In two weeks I'll post more photos from my trip to Salt Lake City!
