Several weeks ago, John and I took a day trip out to Mount Hood, which is very close to Portland--about a 90 minute drive. It was a spectacular spring day, the weather was perfect, and we had loads of fun. Situated on top of Mount Hood is the Timberline Lodge, its exterior is infamously known as the hotel for The Shining starring Jack Nicholson. The hotel had a wonderful rustic feel, which you might expect from a lodge. Inside it was not at all like it was depicted in the movie. John and I hope to stay the night sometime and get the full guest experience. It was a wonderful day trip exploring the Mount Hood region, please enjoy some of my photos!
Looks like a very nice place....Hope sometime you and John can spend a night there.
